i’ve started writing for a new record recently, and it’s looking like i’m going to be knee deep in working on that for a while. i take a long time to write, but will start integrating new material i’ve been into my sets this summer and fall. i’ll keep tossing out updates on this as new info surfaces.

along with this, i’ll be marrying in june (!), honeymooning to california, and working the day job that pays my bills.

expect to see some random one-off midwest shows throughout the summer, and perhaps a tour in late summer/early fall.

right now, i have one confirmed show at gabe’s in iowa city for may 28. check it!

i’ll also be releasing another single in the fall! for those of you who missed my new vinyl release, two poems, you can still order a digital or vinyl copy here!

be well,
jared

thank you!

i’d like to thank everyone who came out to my record store day show at ribbon records today. i greatly appreciate your support.

hi friends, i’d like to let you know that i’m going to be releasing my first 7″ single in april, and it’s called two poems.

i will announce the release date in about a week.

but what i can say now is that the single will drop in a limited hand-numbered pressing of 500 copies. once this pressing runs out, i won’t be printing any more copies of this in a physical medium.

adding to the collectable nature of this release is the fact that nicole blackburn is designing the album art to be printed on the record sleeves with a letterpress machine.

so, please stay tuned!

i’m nearing the tail end of my winter west coast tour with dastardly. thank you to everyone who has come out to our shows!

my tourmates and i are dead on our feet right now, having slept in cars and couches and floors of houses for the past few weeks.

it’s been an extremely memorable experience for a variety of reasons, and i’ll be home soon.

at that point, i’ve got a variety of shows set for spring, and a 7″ on deck. i will hopefully be announcing the release date for that soon.

until then, take care.

i’m ready to close down 2010 unceremoniously now; i think the year is just about squeezed dry of its interesting happenings. we’ll be starting out 2011 with some notable projects, which i will explain in further detail at a later time.
namely:

  • dastardly & jared bartman “avoid another chicago winter” 2011 tour
  • two poems

and from there, i am certain of very few things. and i guess that’s okay.happy new year.
