NEW SINGLE!

HEADS UP!

I’m releasing a digital-only single called Grinnin’ In Your Face in 3 DAYS on Black Friday (11/25/11), and here’s the best part: It’s FREE! That’s right; on the most capitalistic day of the year, I’m giving away music that I definitely paid money to make! You can thank me later.

This single features stripped-down acoustic and voice performances by yours truly of two blues tunes; the traditional “Jesus Gonna Make Up My Dyin’ Bed”, and Son House’s “Grinnin’ In Your Face”.

So, at the stroke of midnight this Friday, you can download the music in any high-res format of your choice for free from my personal Bandcamp page.

Grinnin’ In Your Face was recorded and mixed by Scott Solter at Baucom Road, and mastered by Jason Ward at Chicago Mastering Service. Art and design was championed by Nicole Blackburn.

It’s likely that I’ll press this single to 7” vinyl at some point down the road, but for now, enjoy the digital release. Please spread the word about this free download to everyone you know, and don’t say I never gave you anything!

i’m still here, i promise.

i’ve started writing for a new record recently, and it’s looking like i’m going to be knee deep in working on that for a while. i take a long time to write, but will start integrating new material i’ve been into my sets this summer and fall. i’ll keep tossing out updates on this as new info surfaces.

along with this, i’ll be marrying in june (!), honeymooning to california, and working the day job that pays my bills.

expect to see some random one-off midwest shows throughout the summer, and perhaps a tour in late summer/early fall.

right now, i have one confirmed show at gabe’s in iowa city for may 28. check it!

i’ll also be releasing another single in the fall! for those of you who missed my new vinyl release, two poems, you can still order a digital or vinyl copy here!

be well,
jared

thank you!

i’d like to thank everyone who came out to my record store day show at ribbon records today. i greatly appreciate your support.

jared

Two Poems

it’s been a while since my last record, and i have a new effort ready just in time for record store day!

the record is a single called two poems, and it will be released on 7″ vinyl on april 15. in the meantime, you can stream both songs here.

so, here’s how it works: two poems will only be released in a limited pressing of 500 vinyl copies, and comes in a hand-numbered letterpress-printed record sleeve from stumptown printers, with original artwork by nicole blackburn. each copy of two poems comes with a download code (redeemable on bandcamp) for a 320kbps mp3 copy of each song.

physical vinyl copies of two poems will be available at a name-your-own-price rate (with a $5 minimum) on bandcamp, and will be available at shows and a few record stores for $7. purchases of the phyiscal copies through bandcamp will also come with an immeidate download of a new SECRET BONUS TRACK that i recorded with scott solter in november.

after the original 500 pressings are sold, two poems will no longer be available for purchase in a physical recorded medium.

i’ll be celebrating the release of two poems with a FREE acoustic show at ribbon records in peoria at 2pm. i will have copies of two poems for sale with me, and the event is all ages!

it would mean a lot to me to see you there!
